EUROPEAN FUNDED PROJECT
On top of consultancy activities, Toxit participated in a number of projects related to computational toxicology, ADME and toxicity prediction.
Our recent EFSA funded projects:
– Data collection and data entry for EFSA’s Chemical hazards database: OpenFoodTox (2012-2022)
OpenFoodTox is a structured database summarising the outcomes of hazard identification and characterisation for the human health, the animal health and the environment (il DB è accessibile da https://zenodo.org/records/8120114).
– Further development and update of EFSA’s Chemical Hazards Database: OpenFoodTox 3.0 (2023-2026)
The project intends to further develop the OpenFoodTox database so that it can become one of the foundations for the EU’s “one substance, one assessment (OSOA)” initiative. In addition to update of hazard data collection, new toxicological properties (e.g. environmental fate and transport data, exposure data, toxicokinetic data and in vivo non-critical toxicological data) will be collected in the new database.
Other EFSA funded projects:
– Applicability of physicochemical data, (Q)SARs and read-across in Threshold of Toxicological Concern assessment
– Evaluation of the applicability of existing (Q)SAR models for predicting the genotoxicity of pesticides and similarity analysis related with genotoxicity of pesticides for facilitating of grouping and read across
– Expert assistance in revision of EFSA’s DCF Chemicals Data Catalogue
– Reports on toxicokinetics, toxicity and allergenicity data on substances to be evaluated as acceptable previous cargoes for edible fats and oils
ECHA funded project:
– Data curation of the ECHA’s systemic toxicity database, based on ESRs of the REACH registration database
JRC funded projects:
– Use of REACH registration database to calculate Human Health Effect Factors of USETox® model
– Specific Advice on Exposure Assessment and Hazard/Risk Characterisation for Nanomaterials under REACH
EU funded project:
– COSMOS Integrated In Silico Models for the Prediction of Human Repeated Dose Toxicity of Cosmetics
